Strings for Alt rock

I'm going to be using either a Squier Jaguar Bass or a Squier P Bass for an alt rock band. What kind of strings would you guys recommend? I'm currently using Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings and I feel like they are a little too light and don't give enough Bass just a lot of treble.

Daadario xl, i find them to have a more baseball bat tone rather than Ernie Balls which have a more knife type of tone.
For SS, rotosound rs66: muted high end response and tones of mids (can seem dead though... after a week).
For flats, daddario chromes.

"Alt Rock" basically means any rock that isn't blooz-based or metal. What kinda sound are you going for?

Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky. That's where it's at for nickel strings

More Psychedelic/Grunge rock I guess. Experimental would also be a good word. Maybe more towards a P bass sound.

I am in a hard rock/alternative cover band. I will only use Roto 66 or Blue Steels.
