Strings best for John Mayer Tone?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys,
so its about time for me to change my strings and i dont know jack about them. im looking for strings that will give me a smooth soft tone. pretty much pino palladino or david labruyere (both from john mayers band) type of tone. i play a Fender Jazz Bass with custom american electronics so if anyone knows what i should try, that plays a fender jazz, please let me know!

It's my understanding LaBruyere uses dead Rotosounds. Pino uses Thomastik Infeld and LaBella flats.
