Strings with Black Ends

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a used bass that has strings on it I cant identify. The previous owner couldnt remember what kind they were either. They have black cloth windings on the ends by the tuners and black ball ends at the bridge.

Does anybody play strings with black windings on both ends?
What are they?

I believe Fenders Nickels have black silk.

They're not Fenders if they have black ball ends. Fender 7250 and 8250 have black silks only. Dunno then..

I recently tried on some GHS Pressurewounds on my bass and they had black silks on both ends. The E string was dead though, so that was that for... that set.
