Sign in to disble this ad
does anyone go through strings kinda fast? i just switched to heavier strings and they don't break but they feel kinda funny compared to .45's (i now use .50's)

and yes, i slap and pop all the freaking time.

I never broke a string either (been playing for 6-7 years), despite some aggressive fingerstyle, slapping and popping. If you often break strings, it's probably because of a bad bridge or way too aggressive playing. It's not normal to break bass strings often.

You're using decent quality strings, right?

I have broken one string and i'm positive that it was because of my bridge. That might be your problem because i'm a fan of slapping and popping and that is what i was doing when it happened too.

its a warwick bridge (so i don't think that is the issue) ive used the warwick strings, dean markley blue steels, dr red devils (the broke the first weak) and d'addarios (a month with out breaking) all medium gage with the exception of the d'addarios. and i always break the g, nothing else.

try rotosound swingbass RS66 steels heavy guage.

i use these strings all the time, and i slap quite heavy, and fast aswell, i trash my strings around and these stay bright for ages and they're really tough strings.

seriously TRY THEM OUT!!!
