Strings for Cort Curbow 6

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a Cort Curbow 6 from ebay, and I love the active eq and electronics...but especially the low strings sound pretty dead acoustically...

I was wondering what kind of strings would be the best sounding for the instrument. I'm not sure whether to go with something like Elixirs, LaBella tapewounds, or even to try flats. The Curbow has one Bartolini humbucker set about where the humbucker goes on a Music Man (doesn't quite look the same because the fingerboard is so long though )
_______

I mostly play in church or for myself, but I like everything from classical to jazz to funk to metal, and I'm a big fan of progressive rock and most kinds of fusion music as well.

I have a Cort Curbow 5 that I use from time to time. I like DR Low Riders on it. If you go with tape wounds or flats they'll probably sound dead. Because the body of the Cort Curbow is made out of Luthite, the sustain tends to drop off faster than on a solid wood body.
