Strings for DGCF?

Sign in to disble this ad
Not 2 steps down from standard, DGCF as in the four highest string of a B-F strung 7 string. I'm planning a 4 string experiment, and it'll be tuned for super highness.

Can I just buy these strings as all singles at a store (Say, Guitar Center or Bass Exchange) or would I need to go sonicstrings.net or juststrings.com?

Can anyone inform me of any sort of variance I'd have? My favorite strings, normally, are DR Hi-Beams, but this is going on a fretless...

You can order a custom set of DR Highbeams in those guages, it'll cost ya a bit more I assume ,but hey. And since the strings are that thing, they will do very, very littel wear to the fingerboard.

I think you'd need gauges

D - .60
G - .40
C - .30/.25
F - .20/.18

I'd send DR an email to seeif they can make a bass set in those gauges, I'm sure they can.

Emailed DR... hope a local dealer might be able to have it, if not I hope it still works out.
