Which strings for drop C tuning?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I'm tuning down my bass to drop C, so I got some regular warwick red label .45 - .105 , and I adjusted my neck tension as well as the bridge and it's pretty playable, but it still buzzes a bit on the C string... should I put in some thicker strings? Which ones ? Thanks in advance

.105's should do the trick, raise your saddle a bit.

I use Ernie Ball Power Slinkys on my jazz for dropped C and they are 110-55

Yeah I played in drop C for a long time and preferred the .110 over .105s

Try .105, .095, .075, .055, .040

I had DR make up a few sets for me when I was playing bass for this metal band, the gauges worked great.

For drop C/standard D tuning I use .115, .085, .065, .045.

Standard Lo Rider set with special ordered .115s. Works great for me.
