strings for F# tuning

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, i am looking for somewhere that sells around a 160 gauge string for a low F# tuning. i know conklin has some, so if anybody has tried those, please comment if you could. I also have a 4 string bass, an Ibanez SR300 in orange, and i was wondering if i would have trouble with the strength of the neck (just because its a cheap bass, i know that you can adjust the truss rod, but I'm concerned that maybe that wont even matter.)

Warwick sell a .175 string for low F#.Sold as a single string.
I think SIT do a .165 for low F# & a .195 for low C#.
iirc the fatter the string, the lower the tension.

They carry 4 string sets that start at F# - .175 or .185 strings.

The fatter the string, the higher the tension, incidentally, if the string construction is similar. But you're tuning down as well, so the tension should be similar.
