Strings for Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,

I recently got an Amercan Deluxe Pbass which is beautiful IMHO. Ive got Thomastik flatwounds on just now but I would like some recommendations on other strings that sound good on a Pbass. Im searching for a John Deacon (Queen) kinda tone.

Cheers

Deak

I've got two ADP's right now. I keep one strung with the factory 8250 super bass strings and I just put a set of fender 9050ml flats on the other. I think they both sound awesome. I have used roto 66's a lot on another ADP that I had and you can't hardly beat them either.

Hi!!

Currently I'm using SIT .45 round wound on my Am Delux P, it sound great but I'm looking for more old rock bass sound like Pink Floyd's Guy Pratt (Pulse - Comfortably Numb or Brain Damage) or Dire Straits...

Can I put some flats on it or I will get this kind of sound only with an passive pbass + flats !??!
I allways had an impression that's only in a passive pbass its possible get that sound. I hope I'm wrong
In fact Im almost buying one passive pbass to try, maybe in a few months...

here's my axe :

thanks!

I vote for RotoSound RS66 Swing Bass 45-105. Used them for years. IMO the best growly rock string you can use on any P. Passive or active.
