I used to love D'Addario Slo-wound strings for my Jazz bass, but I guess nobody else did, because they quit making them. I finally settled on the Fender 7250M. Good sound, good price. Give them a try.

I am throwing this out just because I didn't see it suggested before....

I love Rotosound 66 Stainless. Although, one could argue that they don't have the "Jazz" sound. I like they way they growl.

I'm using DR Marcus Millers and have put on these on two of my Jazz's. Love the tone and feel of these.

I currently have 7150 Pure nickels on mine, and I am pleased with their sound. I am thinking about a set of flats, which TI's, GHS Precision Flats, and Chromes are on the short list of possibilites.
