Strings to fit a Precision

Sign in to disble this ad
What is the thickest set of strings that will fit properly into a precision bass without modifying the nut or saddles?

I only use flatwound if anyone has any suggestions.

Standard guages are 45-105, you could probably go to a 110 without recutting the nut, but it may effect tuning stability a bit.

Labella flats in a .105 guage have lots of tension, I'm not sure why you'd want to go tighter than that. Are you detuning?
