I did a search but didn't see what I was looking for.
I'd like to know what kind of strings L2000 players out there are using and why. Just wanted to get some opinions first, as strings are a bit pricy.
I have a new L2000 with a maple neck and play blues-rock, rock, and a bit of funk. I've always been impressed with GHS Boomers, but that was on my old Jazz with a rosewood neck. |

They are a bit bright at first, but mellow into a great tone with the L-2000. Parallel / Active seems to be a great match for the XLs. TI Flats also do well.

I'm very curious to try flats -- I haven't used any for many years, and that was only briefly.
My search here showed TI Powerbass seems to be a popular G&L choice.

I use those on my jazz and love them - I've heard they sound fantastic on the L-2500, which I can totally see. |

I like the DA nickleround XL170's pretty well too.
If you really wnat to tame it, LaBella 760FL's are a great flatwound the still have some clean high end response to them.

I had a pack of D'Addario XL-165s (I think thats the number) the dealer threw in with my bass order. I had forgotten about them, but just put them on. Sounds pretty good at low volume -- can't wait to crank it up a bit.
I'll definitely look into TIs and the Ken Smith's too.
