Strings as a gift

I've had my birthsday a few days ago and today I have the first rehearsal since then. I suspect my bandmates to give me a new set of strings. They probably know the gauge I love and that I have a good opinion on D'Addario strings. Still, I love to investigate new brands and types, so I definetly woluld buy myself something different from what I've already tried (and TB "helps" me with the choice greately).
And I just wanted to know your opinion. (that wouldn't change anything, just like most polls don't )

Accept the gift graciously, and if it isn't a brand or gauge you like, take it back to the store and exchange it.

i voted for new strings are always good, BUT! say "oh, i would realy like to try the ..... ..... Strings, they seem like they would sound very nice" at a band practice once but dont make it sound forced.

Be thankful for their generosity and show them how much you enjoy their gift by keeping and using it. You can always buy another set and replace them in a few months if you want something different.
