Strings on Jaco's "Bass Of Doom"?

Sign in to disble this ad
Now, before anybody says 'Rotosounds, dummy!"...

In the new Bass Player mag, there is an article about how the bass has been (allegedly) recovered. Will Lee, Victor Wooten & Victor Bailey all got together to admire it & play around on it a bit. It's mentioned that the bass is currently strung with a different type of string (not Rotos), but the type of string is not given.

They look to me like flats (from what I can tell), and there is a light colored silk wrapping on the headstock ends.

(BTW - I checked on the BassPlayer website for a photo, and to see the clips mentioned in the article on Bass Player TV, but the site hasn't been updated yet.)

Any ideas? Discuss...
