Question Strings for a Jaguar HB...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello All:

Looking to buy a 34" Squier Jaguar HB and I'd like to know if a change of strings could warm it up a bit?

Flats, rounds, specific recommendations? What works for you?

Thx
KM

GHS Flatwound strings, sold through Carvin. Fantastic strings, and reasonably priced. I have these on all my basses.

I agree with the flats. Flats seem to warm up the tone on any bass.

I have Labella Deep Talkin' flats on mine...my favorite strings, and they last for years or decades.

If you want warmth, but don't want to go to flats, try DR Sunbeams. Just give them a couple days of playing to break in...they are bright at first, but they smooth out pretty quickly.

However, flats may be the ultimate answer there and you won't go wrong with Labellas.

LaBella's are worth the money. If they don't break you'll never need new strings again. The feel is incredible.

Same with the GHS precision flats ...keep them clean and they'll last a lifetime. Can't imagine my Fender with any other strings.
