Just picked up my bass after having a new neck put on and some strings put on at the same time. They're GHS Precision Flats, which I've been using for a while and not had a problem with, but on the E string, basically from where it comes over the saddle to almost as far as the pickup (it's a P bass) the windings are loose around the string and I can roll them back and forth with my fingers. When I play there's a bit of movement as my finger foes over the string. Does that make sense? Anybody had this problem before?

There is another thread started today with the same problem. Must be a bad batch of E's going around.

| | | | Since they are supposed to be new strings put on by the tech, I'd ask them to put ona nondefective set. Never had that problem with any strings Ive used. Is it somehting that just happens with some flats?

you don't need a new set, just a new E string. but first have the tech fix the saddle (if that's the issue) so it won't happen again...
