Strings for my Bird

I'm changing strings on my epi Thunderbird from rotosounds and I was wondering what are some strings that have some more clarity for my notes. I play with both picks and fingers though I prefer my fingers if that helps.
Would smaller strings help the E from being too boomy?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

DR Hibeams are known for being bright, which should help. Honestly though, any new strings brighten up a bass.
