Strings for my Lakland JO5/J-Retro

Hi,

I've got a Lakland JO5 with a J-Retro.
Normally I am a big DR HiBeams fan. They don't seem to work soundwise on the JO.
Has anyone had the same experience? I remember reading something about exactly the same issue. What shoud I use instead?

Hmm. Dr Hi-Beams are my string of choice as well and I have a Lakland DJ with the Fralin pickups that are normally on the JO basses. I haven't tried Hi-Beams on it yet, but I have a set of Sunbeams coming in soon that I'll try. Or I might throw the sunbeams on my Ken Lawrence and put the Hi-Beams that were on it on the Lakland instead.

Right now the DJ-5 has a set of Sadowsky SS roundwounds with a tapered B string that sounds awesome
