| Strings for my RockBass Corvette 5

I just got the bass mentioned in the title, and want advice on strings to use. I want to stick with the factory string gauges, but no company sells those in a pack that I found. Also, it is suggested that a B string .125 or over should use a tapered core. Should I live by that and only use taper core strings, or will I be OK if I don't?
