Strings, price increase?

I usually order my strings from juststrings.com, unless I'm in a hurry then I buy locally.

I just went to order a set of Fender 9050 from them, and they're now priced at 23 buck... That's the price at my local shop, and last I checked, bout 2 months ago, juststrings price were about 16 buck.

Then I checked for my usual Lo-Rider nickels; I paid 18 buck last time I ordered, they're now 24 bucks... significant increase to say the least.

So, is it just juststrings.com who raised prices, or did the price of strings went up across the board? If so, why?

The cost of Nickel has risen a lot the last year. If you're talking nickel strings (and I think you are) it may be tied to higher materials costs.
