I'm a little confused on this. | Tapered is not a must to string thru body. D'Addario offers a Super Long that is tapered and will work strung thru body. Elixers also offer a tapered B that will string thru body. Check out the single string section at www.juststrings.com.
If you're set up for tapered B right now, you might want to consider Sadowsky strings. Their B is tapered. You'll need to order the extra long set to accommodate the 35" scale and you will need to string thru bridge. The Black Label steels and Blue Label nickels are two of my faves. One aggressive, one is warm and bright.

In fact most string through body makers don't use tapered strings...G&L, Music Man, Fender, Carvin.....just to name a few. I don't use them anymore either. I like to have some mass on the saddle. |

I like my 55-01 with a set of DR Hi-Beams with an UN-tapered B. I find the tapered strings sounded too different from the rest of the strings, and found no utility for them at all.

So you may find the finger feel matches better using those in lieu of the lo rider. US $220.00
I think both a great strings. |

I just slapped a set on on ASJV. I like them very much. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
