Strings for Schecter Diamond P-Custom 5

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, just joined the forums tonight after months of leaching around this site. It's nice to be among other Bassists to talk about the instrument.

I have a Schecter Diamond P-Custom 5 String on it's way as we speak and am wondering if the Strings need to be Super Long Scale in order to string them through the body?

Thanks,

Matt

I have the four string model and love it! Haven't done a string change yet but a new set is on the way. To string thru-body I would suggest the longer strings. Let me know how you like the bass.

I ordered standard length chromes to top load. I heard they are a tight but perfect fit top loaded so to go thru the body would be super long with daddario. Anyone chime in if I am wrong.

Hey man, when you get your bass, join the Schecter Club here on TB. All it takes is a picture of your bass and requesting a number.

Cool, I love D'Addario's so when the time comes I'll try the Super Long Scale. Really can't wait to get this Bass. I've heard MANY good things about Schecter on this site, especially the Diamond - P. I'll most certainly join the club. I've been previously using Ibanez and haven't been too impressed with the SR305 I've been playing for the past year 1/2.

Let me know how you like it. I got the metallic blue. Had it about 6 months and no trouble so far.

Slap some Chrome Flats on it. Put them on my Schecter C4, and love them! Old school tone all day long!!!

That Schecter is far more bass than the Ibanez SR305. Two very different beasts. Way meatier neck and much thicker tone. Better build quality and also way heavier. I like mine with DR Sunbeams.

My first Bass was a P Bass, when I switched to the Ibanez it was a totally different feel, idk if I've ever been comfortable with that Bass. I like the weight of P and J Basses, makes for a killer sound with more tone.

That's exactly what you'll get.
