Strings specifically for Slap

Sign in to disble this ad
I did a search and did not come up with much. Just interested in opinions from hardcore slappers as to what brand of strings are preferred in regards to playability. This is not a request for which strings have the best slap tone but rather which strings are the most responsive to playing in the slap style. Of course this is subjective, but the obvious parameters are roundwound SS, lighter gauges and tension (less or more, not sure on this). And I'm sure there will be alot of votes for the DR varieties which I've tried but am interested in anyones opinion who has found what they believe to be the ultimate slap string, just want to experiment without spending mega $$$ in my search. Thanks for the assist

DR Hi-Beams are the killer slap strings. other than that then Dean Markley Blue Steels sound really good. Daddario Pro Steels dont sound bad either for the $15 on the Juststrings.com

I kinda like Rotosound 30, 50, 70, 90. But since I tried em I haven't used anything else, so can't really compare.
