Strings that are strung with Carvin basses

Sign in to disble this ad
I own a custom Carvin B-5 and I was wondering what type of strings are strung with it? Meaning, D'Addario nickelwound, Ernie Ball regular slinkys, ect. I hope you get what I mean. As far as I know the gauges are .045 - .130.

yea ive heard le bella makes carvins strings... so either go to carvins website and order some strings or you could give it a shot getting some la bellas elsewhere.

The flats that came on my B4 last August were GHS Precision Flats... unless La Bella is using purple silk too.

Most every bass I have -- at least my regular players -- normally wear Carvin Nickel strings. Have for years and they are what I buy on a regular basis.

At least until the strings they came with are changed, that is. Carvin strings may be cheap, but I'm cheaper! I wouldn't take off a decent set of strings just to change brands

Carvin flats used to be La Bellas, but the last couple sets I have ordered from them are identical in every way to the 45-105 GHS Precision Flats I have on my '51 Reissue.

Their website says that they (rounds and tapes) are made by LaBella. Doesn't say anything about their flats.

The flats presently on their website are 45-105 with black silk on the tuner end only, which I believe is a match for the LaBella 760FS.

That picture is not what you will get if you order from them today. They will be GHS Precision Flats 45-105 with purple silks.

I have the understanding that the Carvin Nickel Plated Roundwounds that come "stock" on a new B-5 are 040-060-080-100-128 . . . YMMD . . .

FWIW, that's what I use, too . . . . . .
