| It doesnt work like that. For any given bass the strings various players will prefer will vary a lot depending on personal preferance for the sound tweak strings give. Over the yrs Ive tried many kinds and have come up with just a few brands I like. Of these rotosound swing 66 have been my fave since the mid 70's for any bass. With Ernie Balls for basses that could use a little more crunch accent. GHS boomers as a good alternate to rotosound. Daddario I dont like but they are good if you want less crunch. Dean markley for brightest strings I know of that still have nice crack of thunder lows. The new DR neons have become my other fave next to rotosounds. Like them they dont accent nor diminish crunch and very very nicely balanced tone to me for lows thru mids and highs.
A better way of going about strings is gonna be for you to decide what little tone tweaks youd like. Brighter, darker? crunchier, less so or as is? More middy sound? Once you can decide what little tone tweaks you want and post those (helps if you also state what strings your useing now and what you dont like about them). Then suggestions can be made other then folks just saying what theyrre fave strings are.
