Strings for Sx Short scale Jazz

So what strings do you guys like for this bass. and what strings fit with no problems.

I just use normal DR Marcus Miller strings on my short scale bass and cut them to length.
Put a bend in the string first to stop it from unravelling.
I like the new string sound and I haven't noticed any loss of brighteness or string life by cutting them.
Alembic make short scale strings but they're a bit hard to get in the UK.
