strings, they drive me crazy...

When it comes to strings I go crazy. I've been using EB Flats(2804)for a few months. I had them on my Ibanez SR500 when I had it and liked them. I put them on my Standard Jazz(MIM)and liked them. After getting a new Geddy a couple months ago I put on some EB Flats. They sounded all right but I wasn't getting any sustain. I guess this is maybe common with flats, a dull, thump, kind of punchy sound. I've played country music a lot with the flats and they sounded good. When I tried to "rock" on the Geddy it just wasn't right. Today I put on some EB Hybrids and the Geddy has lots of punch and sustain. Now I still have flats on the Standard Jazz, on an Ibanez BTB400QM, but EB rounds on my Geddy. I don't know why I wrote this...I guess cause I'm going crazy.
