Strings for Warwick?

Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry if I'm revisitng a topic--searched the forum, didn't find any direct answers.

I've heard that Warwick basses don't take kindly to untapered strings. I've got a Warwick Corvette Standard 5, and have until now used only Warwick Black Labels, which I'm quite happy with. But I have to order them online whenever I need them and it's a pain. Do any of you Warwick players use good, easily available alternatives (ghs? dean markley? d'addario? etc.) that fit without having to mess around with them?

Thanks.

DR high beams and fat beams are great on my streamer stage II. D'addrrio prosteels are really good as well if you like your strings tight and bright. P-nut uses GHS Boomers. Options galore.

Similar question here also. Just got my Warwick fretless & LOVE it. I like the Warwick strings but wanted something with similar feel but more sustain. Are the DR's the way to go? Any other suggestions?

I like the sound of nickels on my warwick... so far i've tried D'addario XL nickels and they sound pretty good. I also want to try DR sunbeams and Fender Pure Nickels (7050's?)

I never had any trouble with D'Addario XL's and Dean Markley Blue Steels on my Fortress at all.
