Strings for a Yamaha BB615?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had it for almost a month now and im tired of the wierd steel strings that came with it.

so what strings should i replace em with?

I've been considering Fender Superbass(non tapered) and the Fender Original Nickel 5 string sets.

The tone im looking for is one that can work in neo soul/R&B, gospel, and funk. But I dont really want it to be to bright and growly since i want the bass to be smooth enough work in hip hop and other styles. I do slap also, but getting the perfect piano steel slap sound doesnt matter to me. I just want something versatile and not to bright.

the set would need to have a 125 B string

Either try some D'addario XL Nickels or some GHS bass Boomers. That what I use on my Yamaha BB. You can play a variety of styles with these strings. Thats just my opinion though.
