Stupid taper-wound question

okay, i just got bought a set of strings
that are really nice but the E is Taper-wound and
on the back it says something about it being 'especially designed for Fender's string-through-the-body basses'.

my fender is not string-thru. can i still use them? they're very cool strings.

I'll bet you can still use them unless for some strange the tapered part is too long. Taperwound just makes intonation on the big strings easier. I use a tapered B and love it.
