Suggested gauges for detuning a whole step

Sign in to disble this ad
Right now I use John Pearse Nickel wound 6000 strings (.045 .065 .080 .100)

I'm looking at trying out FCGD (high to low) as a tuning when my new bass is done being built.

I need to make this work on a bass with a scale length of 31.640" so tension is a big deal to me. I was thinking of jumping up to a 110 for the 4th string and increasing the gauge of the other strings by small amounts.

Who has experience/educated opinions/non educated opinions on the topic? Thanks guys
