Suggestions for New Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I am looking for a new set of strings. I'm not sure what I wanna go with but I am looking for some suggestions. I have Rotosound Swing 66's on my P-bass deluxe special. I like the sound they produce but I am trying to get something a little different. I might want a bit of a funkier sound with some really fat sounding E and A and a tight sounding D and G. I like the way Eric Wilson bass sounded with Sublime especially on 'Robbin the Hood'. I also like the sound of first wave and 2-tone ska bass. Any suggestions for strings and an explanation of the sound they have would be appreciated

Cheers

Id try the DR neons or sunbeams. The neons are coated sunbeams. Anyway the thing I like a little better about the neons compared to roto swing66 is little bit tighter low bass, they do have slightly brighter overall tone new but little decrease in basses treble control brings it down to same as rotos with that little bit of added low note presence. Otherwise the tonal color is very similiar even comprable to rotos to me.
