Sunbeams

I switched from Fender SSs to Sunbeams nickel .045 - .100. I was actually after another string, but they were out. Impulsed on the sunbeams, not completely sure what I was getting.

Not really digging them, too floppy for me. Also, a bit brighter than I really like. On the bright side (ha), they are forcing me to adjust my fingering to avoid excessive clanging and probably will help improve my touch. I doubt these will be my ultimate string, but figured I would work with them for a while.

I have heard these strings mellow a bit with time - how long, how much playing, until the sound settles in?

Thanks.

I've been playing the heavier SBs (E is 105) and not for very long. I've found the "clankyness" wears out in a gig or two. The heavier ones are neither floppy nor too stiff - just right. For what it's worth, once they wear in they have some of the sweetest harmonics.
