Super Cheap strings

Didn't see this posted anywhere else here, but Sam Ash has Guitar Research Light gauge strings for $2, and if you buy in multiples of three, the price goes down significantly. I just bought 9 sets for under $6, shipped to my door.

Report back in a few days and let us know what you think. I'm curious. Hope they work out for you. I don't have high hopes, but I hope I'm wrong.

They're out of stock. I guess that was to be expected.

I bought 100 sets last time they were on sale @ .66 per set....after the multi-discount. They actually are not bad strings at all. I prefer them over a host of name brands.....

. . . but they're lights . . . do you folks really play lights? I've tried practically giving away D'Addario lights in the past and nobody wanted them. All I was charing was the shipping. And you guys are eating up lights by the pound? I just don't get it. Price means everything huh? What's the brand name on these?

I'm in the process of swapping over to lights. I've been told it is better for your hand's health, so I'm giving it a shot.

I'm with TimCole. I bought 60 sets at 66 cents each 40-100 GuitarResearch brand. no silk but who cares, no bad strings out of the 9 sets I already used to restring a few of my basses, and yes there was a good thread on this a couple weeks ago.

I watched that thread and all the people laughing at the "cheapness", and all the posts saying "I would NEVER put garbage strings on MY bass"...blah,blah,blah...

not good for them I guess if they "need" 50.00 a set strings.

i have a couple 35" basses and lights feel fine one them. I also do not like spending $30 on strings for my basses that I only play at home for practice. 6 sets for $4 shipped is pretty sweet to me. On my main basses Modulus/ESP/Spector I use D'addario. I stayed away from using those strings because they were "cheap". I used to buy DRs and Rotos.. tried the D'addarios and they sounded great so I have no need to buy the others. Learned my lesson..

I just called Sam Ash and asked about these strings....They're made in China, their gauged at .45 .65 .85 .100 and right now you can get a set for $2.00 and it's free shipping. I'm going to try at least one set. Waddaya got to lose...? What, 2 bucks... ? If you like them and they last for even three months, you're still way ahead of the game. I'll post back how I like them. )-(
