| Swapped my Chromes for Sads, lovin' it

I've had Chromes on my fretless (35", 5-string, neck-through) for about 18 months and like them, but don't love them. Too middy for me and the sustain wasn't enough. Nickel rounds actually sounded pretty good after they broke in, but I really wanted flats. Looked and looked for a good comparison of Chromes to other non-TI flats for brightness/sustain/cost and didn't really find much. Some that sounded promising didn't offer 5-string 35" scale.
So I decided to try Sadowsky Black flats since they are stainless flats (should be brighter) and cheaper than TIs, which I would have liked to try too but too much $$ for a try-it-and-see.
I've had them on for about 4-5 hrs play time and I love them. They are a little brighter than the Chromes and the sustain is noticeably better. They don’t have quite the harmonic content of nickel rounds, of course, but they sound like they have similar brightness. Even if they dull up a little after more playing I will be very happy I think.
I just wanted to post this in case someone else is looking for a similar thing.
PS. They have a tapered B string, which gave me pause, but it feels and sounds good.
