sweaty hands

I've got an issue w/ strings, because i have really sweaty hands. I had my stings changed 2 weeks ago, and they sound dead, just 2 weeks later! What strings should I use to prevent the quick wearing out? I realize that eventually they will loose their pop, but in two weeks? And i need long lasting ones too, because i really play my bass... thanx

Have you considered flats? Try some D'Addario Chromes, they are great strings.

Elixir or Cleartone. Don't forget to clean your strings after every use with Fast Fret or any other cleaner of your choice. Leaving the oils and grime from your hands on your strings after playing will kill them quicker than anything else.

Well if you got really sweaty hands, try using 91% rubbing alcohol on your hands. Rubbing alcohol keeps your hands dry. Wash you hands, dry 'em, pour rubbing alcohol on you hands and let dry and off you play.
Last time I saw Stanley Clarke he had a bottle of rubbing alcohol on stage and wiped down his hand before a set.

Rubbing alchohol is a good idea as suggested.

On hot nights I also keep a small bottle of baby powder and rub in on my hands to absorb any sweat.

I also use a toothbrush to "wipe" down the strings after a gig. Just brush across all 4, 5, or 6 strings at once right down the neck. Takes about 1 minute, and cleans them nicely.
