Is it anything like tapered fly line?

Here are tapered strings. Less mass in the saddle. Supposedly vibrates better, but it's debatable.

Thanks MMbongo, wish someone had explained this before.

It's not like the manufacturers actually place a taper drawing or photo on their website for marketing purposes, though it seems obvious that they should (or maybe I missed it).
