Tapes that are flatwound beneath the windings?

All the tapewounds I've played have been rounds under the nylon, and I thought I'd seen mention of some tapes that were flats underneath? Anyone know anything about that?

I think those are about as existent as tapes in colors other than black. As far as I've seen.

I think Roto Trubass are flats under the winding. Only set I can think of.

theyre rounds, I have them and labellas both are rounds

just checked the pyramid catalog it only says they have a high class magnetic core whatever that means

I'm not aware of any tapes that are flats under the tape.

If you find any please post about it, I'd like to try them.

I'm not aware of any, either. I doubt it makes much difference.

Im not certain but i think the string underneath is only for conduction , Im not sure if its a string or more like a conductor and something to wrap the ribbon around ,not really sure if it would even matter
