Tapewound Black Nylon Roundwounds?

Hey there, been looking at tapewound strings for my fretless bass and I heard about Fender's nylon filament roundwounds here on TB. I've been looking for them or something similar but all I'm finding are flats wrapped in nylon or something similar, never rounds in nylon.

Anyone know where I could find them or a similar product?

Also, if anyone has anything they'd like to say about tapewounds to help me make my decision I'd like to hear it. Thanks in advance.

The filament tape Fender sold are no longer made, or at least they are not listed on Fender's website anymore. You might find some on the juststrings.com website. I have heard thier 9120s were actually rounds but lately I have heard different. Check out the GHS website. Their's are fairly new and I don't know if they are flats or rounds.

I've been using the Fender 9120s on my fretless basses for a while now and I really like them. Especially after they break in a bit. I think D'Addario makes them for Fender now. They are a round wound covered with nylon so they have a bit of brightness when new. They are low tension strings and may take some getting used to.

I believe you're referring to the 7120s. These are actually nylon roundwounds. 9120s are roundwounds wrapped in nylon tape. http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Nylon-F.../dp/B0002DUVWW
