Hi
I found tree sets of Flats in my "old strings bag" but no set was in their package so..
I'm pretty sure one set is Daddario Cromes and another is LaBella (but I.m not sure about that) but I havent a clue about the third set
Can you help me to identify the sets, please?
-One set has green silk at the endball side and no silk at all at the tuner side.
(this is the stiffest/less flexible set)
-One set has no silk at the endball side and black silk at the tuner side
-One set has darkblue silk in both endball and tuner sides.

I too am curious about the first set, I have encountered various basses that have had those same strings and I really liked them.
Good luck!

Green is def Fenders.
Can't say about the black ones though. |

| | | | Thanks !
Found the (empty) package for the Cromes and it's a CB82 050-105 set from ca 1992 (so there's no coloured ballends.dont think Daddario had bugun that feature at that time)
so... I'm pretty sure (with YOUR help) its like this:
-One set has green silk at the endball side and no silk at all at the tuner side.
(this is the stiffest/less flexible set) FENDER
-One set has no silk at the endball side and black silk at the tuner side LaBella
-One set has darkblue silk in both endball and tuner sides. Cromes |

| | | | My recent Chromes came with blue silk.
Older Hofner (made by Pyramid) and Pyramid strings had light green silk... Newer batch has dark green...
LaBella made strings for Carvin... The remaining set I have of Carvin/LaBella has violet/light purple, or whatever it's called...
Gibson and GHS had red silk last time I used them...
My new Fender has black silk...
I don't think you can dependably tell a brand by its silk color... |

I was thinking of a set I bought a few years ago that came with black silks, when I asked them about it they said they sometimes substitute one colour for another if they are out of stock. |
