Tenor bass strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Yes, I did run the search button, but I did not find what I was looking for.

I'm getting an Alembic Spoiler that I am turning tenor in honor of Stanley Clarke. And what I want to know is if I can get a pack of strings from a company. Or do I have to buy individual strings. If so, how many, what gauges, and where can I order them online?

Also.....can I just play the stuff I already know in the same position as my regular bass? Or does the different tuning make me have to change positions? Like if I'm playing School Days on an EADG bass, can I just play it in the same position on a ADGC bass, but have it sound higher?

Look at the High-C thread and you should get the idea. You can either scavenge strings from 6-string sets, buy singles, or buy a 4 string set and a single C. I get my piccolo and EADGC sets from Zon via their online store, if that helps get you started.

I got a 4-string set of DR Sunbeams (.045 - .100) and then bought an individual .030 string. Works fine!

Oh yeah, I always buy from http://www.juststrings.com/
