Between GHS Brite Flats and D'Addario Chromes?

I have used Chromes before and they were bright for a flatwound. How are the GHS different?

HUGE difference. Chromes are a true flatwound string. The outer wrap is a flat ribbon , not a round wire. GHS Brite Flats are a moddified roundwound. They start as a roundwound string where the final wrap is round wire, and then that outter wrap is polished so it's flatter on the outter surface. They're more like D'Addario's Half-Rounds. The idea of both the Half-Rounds and the Brite Flats is that the strings will vibrate more like a roundwound but won't have the rough surface of the rounds.
