I like the thickness of the D string, so would it be weird to have a .060 as a G? And would .060 and .065 be a big enough difference between the G and D, or would it even matter? I would like to have a .055 as G, but that is not a option. Bummer.
The issue is when playing the string tension will feel very uneven. If you go to Circle K's website, there is a string tension chart for various string gauges, and you can make comparisons.

+1
you gotta be careful with uneven tension on the neck. when the string gauge is increased, the neck bends, if only some of the strings tension is increased then the neck can warp into different shapes
i'd suggest if you want to experiment with thicker strings then thicken all of them.

Reason: spelling error
055 is a standard G string for Fender flats with a 105 E. So we know at least Fender basses (and possibly only the P basses) can handle that no problem.
