This is true for new strings.
If you leave the TI's on for about six months.
They open up, and mellow out.
I've had a set on my fretless P-Bass for 3 years.
And they just get better.
I also have love for Labella 760FL's.
Have a set on one of my fretted P-Bass. (Maple fingerboard)
They kill on this bass.
