I would call Superalloys extraordinarily good ordinary strings, but the price is not ordinary as well.

The price is high but they last a long time for Round Wounds . Hopefully I can stop chasing the String Dragon.
As far a tension goes they are higher the Jazz Flats but less the a standard roundwound.

I thought the super alloys were very reasonable compared to the price of the jazz rounds.

Why didn't anyone ever tell me bossa nova sounded so good?

FWIR Jazz Rounds are a very different kind of roundwounds, so you pay the premium for something that other manufacturers don't even offer. I'm looking forward to try 'em someday.

Super alloys are almost half as expensive as all their other bass strings. I bought the super alloys not for the cost but because it was the only set of 36" 6 string i could get from TI. I had been playing jazz rounds for a few years already, so while they weren't the sound I was looking for at the time, I ended up really liking them on the bass they were on. Very articulate but stiffer than jazz rounds and power bass.

Compared to other brands they are only marginally more expensive when you look at the price of the other TI strings.

The Superalloys are going to cost about 35 dollars. The more I play them the more I love them.

Yes $35 is correct. Other strings cost up to $28 or so. Like I said...marginally more expensive blah blah blah compared to the test of TI strings.

Has anybody ever tried TI guitar strings? I'm assuming they're awesome, so I'm trying to get my guitar friend to buy them

How would the supperalloys compare to generic ghs boomers? The way they are described is close to how I would describe boomers, only you guys add a lot of extra enthousiasm. Should i break my 20 year habit of buying boomers?

The SA's won't have as much zing out of the pack, but they last much longer than the boomers. I think the SA's have much more musical midrange tone than the boomers.

+1 I love these strings for finger style on my Zon Sonus Custom 4. It brought out a frequency of the mids that had been lacking with other nickel rounds. I don't get buried and I don't have to "cut" with these. The slot nicely in the mix for me.

Can you describe where this "musical" midrange is? Lower, mid or higher midrange, is it a p kind of midrange ? ... Sounds like they come close to boomers when they re in the sweet spot between being broken in and getting tot old.

I'd say the P-bass mid-range would describe them well. Is that mid-mids? The nice thing about them is that they maintain their sound through out their life (6 months for me).

So glad I followed ljazz's recomendation on the superalloys for my new G&L SB1. A match made in tone heaven. Kind of curious how Boomer 52s would compare. Alloy 52 is that magical Nickel Iron combo and GHS indeed makes their own version. My gut feeling is the Infelds would be better quality as everything that company makes seems top notch.

Looks like GHS also uses nickel iron alloy for progressives and pressurewound too. wonder if anyones made any comparisons.

I forgot Ken Smith Slick Rounds and Compressors are also nickel iron alloy. Just been pulling this info from juststrings btw. Anyone else feel free to add if I've missed anything.
