50-110 + Thump + Roundwound? That's hard, I can get the same thump from some older EBMM Slinkies and DR Fat/Hi Beams. The DR strings tend to "thump" more though to my ear, after I've turned down all the treble, and bumped up some lows and mids, though I think most strings will respond well to this.

I'd say start off with DR's Hi Beams, they're pretty bright but if you've got the tone controls they thump really really well, and I prefer them to nickels when I want thump.

Why do they have to be that particular gauge?

Rounds that thump to me would be lighter gauge rounds that have been on there a while.

I suggest Ernie Ball 40-95 Slinkies that have been played about 10 hours.

I think Dean Markley Blue Steels come in that gauge, those can be pretty thumpy when they're dead.

Any one-year-old set of rounds will have a lot of thump. Brand new strings, not much.

Just curious, if you want thump, why don't you get some flats ?

yeah I have LaBella 760FM on my CV P, but after set up 2 months ago I think the neck is getting ever so slightly bent cause of the tension.

Then reset the tension!!! or I can send you some old dead rounds from my dead string drawer! Rounds dont "thump" they ring true.

I'd suggest EB Power Slinky, .55-110. Nice thump, underrated strings.

What bass are these for?

Ok, then I'd definitely give them a try since a P neck can handle them a little better, plus they're not going to break the bank.
