TI flats on acoustic bass

Just curious what TI jazz flats would sound like on a acoustic bass. I know they make Thomasik phosphor bronze but they're rounds. Anyone use TI flats on there acoustic?

I did for a while. I had issues with string to string balance on the piezo. The TI's are too light to put really good downforce on the pickup. I did paper shims and even changed the E to a D'Addario 100 which was a little stiffer. I got it OK. Then I tried some Labella Tapewounds and those just do it for me. I'm a fan of the TIJF - but not on most piezo basses. My Barker Brio witha Graphtech piezo system does better with TIJF's thought the tapewounds still sound woodier.

I have a set of JF344's on my Ovation CC074 and they play and sound great acoustic and amplified. I guess I got lucky with the balance because it's near perfect!

Used for years on an ABG. If you're looking for a modern steel string amplified upright kinda sound that's a good way to get it. Quieter acoustically than bronze.

As a side note the TI bronze ABG strings are extremely flexible. They make the fairly flexible TI flats feel like rebar by comparison.
