Are TI flats available in custom singles - E(.090)?

Sign in to disble this ad
I love my TI flats(JF344), however I'd love to swap out my 4th(E .100) with a lighter .090, but don't think it's manufactured by TI?

Alternatively, is there a close match with another brand?

thx.

Perhaps D'Addario Chromes? I used them and they reminded me quite a bit of TI flats in that they had a nice growly mid to them and very clear fundamentals. Check out:

They have the size you're looking for.

TI's gauges are all fixed for bass strings. Just one gauge for each type. Unless you want to custom order a minimum of 12 sets at 3x the retail price. Then they could do it

Thanks AN0INTD.
Wow - the Chromes come in every gauge! Looks like the Chromes are very popular around here. As long as the tension is not way out from the TI's, maybe worth a try...

Thanks Lokire.
I assume that they are engineered to the strict specs due to their quality? And altering a single string probably isn't recommended.(tone/musically). mmmm.

They have their specific tensions so that the eveness in tone between strings is greater.
You might find a hair of a difference in tone between the rest of the set of TIs compared to that one E string, but I doubt it would be that much (especially if you really have your heart set on a .90 E string )
Glad to help in anyway!
If you do decide to get the Chrome, please post back here with your final verdict!
