TI Flats for Bronco

Sign in to disble this ad
My little bro wants to try some TI Jazz Flats on his Squier Bronco that we're going to put a new pickup in, but I'm not sure if they'll fit. I see long scale, extra long scale, Hofner scale, and "short scale", but those claim they are for 32" scale. Sould we go with the Hofner version?

TI doesn't make a set that perfectly fits top loading (or string through for that matter) 30" scale basses. I've bugged them about it for several years and NEVER gotten a response. What's with a 32" "short scale"??? If you don't mind a little bare metal on the tuner post you can use the "short scale" version. I've done it on my Mouse 30 without breaking a string but the posibilty still exists in my mind. I don't know about the the 32" medium scale version. Another issue for me being a long time long scale user is the E in the short scale is only available in a heavier .106. Somewhere I have a used regular long scale set I'm gonna throw on my Landing just to see.

I had the 32s on my Bronco. No problems.
