I have a four string set of TI jazz flats, and would like to put them on one of my five string basses. But as far as I know, they do not make a string suitable for the low B (I could be wrong).
If I were to mix in a B string from another brand of flats, are there any that would work well, in your opinion? |

Ya they sound great, for 5-string.
But, the 136-B=string maybe a little thick for some people? |

I, too, thought the .136 B would be too fat, but the tension on the TIs is low enough that I doubt that most players will find it objectionable. I've had a set on my 55-94 for two years and they sound almost the same as they did when I put them on. They fit perfectly with the exception that the metal part of the G string wraps around the peg a bit, but I have not had a problem. My only regret is that they don't make a six-string flat set or at least a C string single. Bass Emporium does have the best prices on the JF 365 set. |
